Cesar Chavez March and Rally 2010

        LCLAA Sacramento Chapter invites you, the community to participate in the next annual Cesar Chavez marcha committee.  Meetings will be held every Thursday of the month beginning January through February at 5:30 p.m. at the SEIU-United Service Workers West (USWW) 1877 Janitors Union office.  For the month of March, the meetings will moved to the SEIU Local 1000 Union office location.  Both addresses are noted below:

 As in past years, the Cesar Chavez Marcha’s destination is Cesar Chavez Plaza Park on 10 & J Streets, in Sacramento.  Several thousand people participate in the Marcha and Rally.  If you would like to sponsor an informational booth or literature table to inform and provide outreach from approximately 11 am to 4:00 pm at the Rally, please print-out, fill out and return this form to the address below. 

 Guidelines and General Information

·     Organization outreach general themes should complement the purpose of Cesar Chavez’ life and ideals of service, unity of all communities and all colors, for labor & human rights of all labor’s family;

 

·     A donation of $50 is asked to help defray the costs of the event. Small grassroots groups are welcome and will not be turned away: a sliding scale donation may be considered;

 

·      Booth space will be assigned.  Please return this form as soon as possible;

 

·      Tables, chairs, or other equipment will not be supplied.  You must bring your own;

 

·     We encourage bilingual informational material (English – Spanish) so participants can be optimally served;

 

·     Begin setup of your booth at 9:00 am, on Saturday 3/28/09. Begin breakdown at 4:00 pm; and

 

·      Very limited parking is allowed by the City immediately alongside the Park.  Make arrangements to quickly unload your materials, and then park in any of the public parking structures located within 2 blocks.

 

 Festivities at the special fun-event include music, food, guest speakers, art, and poets – all in a family atmosphere!
